Aruba

Aruba is a small island off the northern coast of South America. It has a desert climate. The southern coast of the island is home to very peaceful waters, but the northern coast has rough waves. A strong wind blows constantly, and the temperature averages in the 80's year-round. Aruba is just 700 miles north of the Equator.

This used to be the largest Natural Bridge in the Caribbean until it collapsed. Here Mr. McElwee inspects the damage.

The water in Aruba was a beautiful blue, and it was warm, too. Swimming in it was like soaking in a warm bath.

On our snorkeling trip, we got to dive around a sunken WWII German ship. The captain of the ship had sunk it instead of allowing it to be captured.

There were tons of fish swimming around this ship. It was awesome!

The ship had been underwater for so long that it was rusty and coral was also growing on it.

These are the Ayo Rock formations. No one can explain how they were formed. A path has been laid so that visitors can climb inside and all around. It was fun to explore them.
